The Older Person Physiotherapy Special Interest Group is a member of the International Association of Physical Therapists working with Older People (IPTOP), subgroup of the WCPT.

VISION

To promote the advancement of Physiotherapy when working with Older People amongst physiotherapists in South Africa.

MISSION

To introduce and develop the understanding of Physiotherapy for Older People to all stakeholders i.e.

• Allied Healthcare providers
• Funders
• Public

To encourage a person-centred, collaborative, inter-professional approach between physiotherapists and all stakeholders working with Older People in South Africa.

To encourage the implementation of evidence-based practice in Physiotherapy for Older People amongst physiotherapists in South Africa.

To advance evidence-based practice by communication and exchange of information between physiotherapists and all stakeholders working with Older People in South Africa.

To encourage and support scientific research in the area of Physiotherapy for Older People in South Africa.
